LaCie 2big RAID 8TB External Desktop Hard Drive USB-C Black

The LaCie 2big RAID 8TB is a professional desktop storage solution designed to provide high-capacity storage, fast data transfers and flexible RAID protection in a compact form factor. With 8TB of total storage capacity, it is ideal for photographers, videographers, content creators and professional users working with large files and demanding workloads. The 2big RAID uses two Seagate IronWolf Pro hard drives, specially designed for demanding NAS and RAID environments. These professional-grade drives provide the reliability required for long-running storage workloads, with an impressive 1.2 million hours MTBF rating. Connectivity: The drive features USB-C Gen 2 connectivity, providing a high-speed wired connection for compatible desktop computers and laptops. It is also compatible with Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C enabled systems. Computers with conventional USB 3.0 Type-A ports can connect using a suitable USB-C to USB-A adapter. The 2big RAID supports flexible RAID configurations, allowing users to choose the setup that best suits their storage requirements. RAID 0 combines the two drives to maximise available capacity and performance, while RAID 1 provides mirrored storage for greater data protection. JBOD mode can also be used to access the drives independently. In RAID 0 mode, the system provides the full 8TB capacity and can achieve transfer speeds of up to 440MB/s, making it suitable for moving and working with large video files, high-resolution photographs and other data-intensive projects. The large capacity is particularly useful for creative professionals. In RAID 0 configuration, the 8TB storage can accommodate approximately 520 hours of 4K footage, providing substantial space for video projects, media libraries and archives. The compact desktop design takes up relatively little desk space, making it suitable for individual users who want dedicated RAID storage readily available at their workstation. It can be used for professional editing, photography, video production, backups and general high-capacity data storage. The combination of 8TB storage, dual IronWolf Pro drives, USB-C Gen 2 connectivity, RAID 0 and RAID 1 support and up to 440MB/s transfer speeds makes the LaCie 2big RAID a versatile and reliable storage solution for demanding desktop workflows.
